hi, i'm adriana!

well, hello there!

...the person running the show at HereNorth.

I've been shooting weddings officially since 2008. By now, I've got this thing down to an art *wink*. I'm all about prompt responses, organizing schedules, and truly getting to know my clients with in-depth questionnaires. But I'm also about having a good time. I'm going to tell jokes that make you comfortable, that keep things fun. Even in the most stressful situation, I'm going to make you laugh (or die trying). Having a first-class seat to the most important day of your life is what keeps me going at it again and again!

For my clients: I love incorporating natural moments and the elements (couldn't you tell?) in the story of your day. I'm all about the landscapes, the trees, and how we live our love and life on a beautiful earth. But most of all, I'm here to capture your meaning, your center. Let your love guide you, baby!

Let's get this party started.

When I was little, I read a book about a Native Alaskan girl living with a pack of wolves- that was the spark that started my fascination with the Greater North. Later in my 20s when I was trying to find some meaning... I went North. I flew to Alaska in the winter, when it's at its dark and at it's coldest and there's nothing around but stillness and your deep thoughts. I used that time to really get in touch with my inner North, and I came home with such a sense of peace and focus.

Four months later I met my now-husband, my center.

When I'm not photographing weddings, I'm a Netflix-binging, dog-loving, sometimes-a-neat-freak type of girl who has a thing for bad reality tv (The Bachelor, anyone?). I've had a few people call me the perfect mix between Type A and Type  (though my husband would say I'm a little too Type A for is his liking).

I was born and raised in New Jersey and still reside here with my hubby of four years and my springer spaniel Remi.

Connection is super important to me and vital for couples to feel comfortable in front of the camera on such an emotional day like their wedding, so I'm BIG on chatting- by phone or video- first with couples to see if we vibe. Wanna see if we're a match?

what's in a name?

"The day of the wedding, you kept me SO calm. I never felt rushed with getting all the photos done, or making sure to get to the venue in time. You made me feel like you had all that under control, which I know you did. You captured every.single.moment and more, in such a beautiful way." - Erica

Over the course of many years working hard to create consistent and beautiful photographs, one major thing that has been impressed upon me is the importance of the EXPERIENCE. Weddings are amazing, a roller-coaster whirlwind ride, and many of the people who will help you get to the other side still standing are the very vendors you hire and trust to guide you.

I'm a stickler with communication, so you'll never find me ghosting you. I'll be guiding you with tips, expectations, questionnaires and timelines, answering all of your e-mailed questions within hours, and having a good laugh (and a good cocktail!) with you during your engagement session.

My goal is simple: I will work WITH you and FOR you. If your mom wants photos with all of your aunts and their aunts' aunts', we'll make it happen! If you want to try a certain photo, but are a little embarrassed to admit it, let me know and it's as good as done.

We'll setup a time to talk. Either video chat or in-person locally to me, whatever works for you! Weddings are a HUGE DEAL, so I want to make sure I understand where my couples are regarding style and vision. This means "meeting" you, in person or on video chat. We can plan a FaceTime "date" or chat over coffee in my town.

You let me know which collection you've selected and we get that contract signed and the retainer paid to secure your date (30% of the total!). We pop open a bottle of celebratory champagne, real or imaginary.

One little note: I can't save any date without a contract signed and retainer paid. I do put a courtesy 72 hour hold on your wedding date after consultation, but beyond that, nothing is secured on the calendar. Dates book up fast (I'm not kidding, some people book two years in advance), so be ready to LOCK IT IN if you're in love!
